Concentration/Minor Description and Requirements

Arabic is regularly offered at both the first, second, and third-year levels. While there is no concentration or minor in Arabic, both Arabic and Hebrew are primary contributors to the minor in Middle East and Islamic World Studies. Also, World Politics majors with a focus on the Middle East must achieve at least a fourth-semester level of the language. Arabic can be useful to students with a background in political science or international studies because of the urgent demand for Arabic in contemporary world affairs.
