Computer Science
The Computer Science Department does not award course credit for AP Computer Science exams. Instead, students may place out of CPSCI 101 and into CPSCI 102 on the basis of a departmental placement exam taken upon entering Hamilton. Any student who earns a 4 or 5 in an AP Computer Science exam, or who feels they have a strong background in programming, is encouraged to take the departmental placement exam. If placed into CPSCI 102, concentrators and minors must take a replacement course for CPSCI 101, to be chosen in consultation with the Computer Science Chair.
