Religious Studies Concentration

The concentration in Religious Studies consists of eleven courses totalling nine and one-half credits.

Take Readings in Religious Studies (RELST 198) in two different semesters.

Students may take RELST 198 as many times as they wish, but it will only count toward the concentration twice.

Take Imagining Religions (RELST 291).

Concentrators should take Imagining Religions (RELST 291) before entering the senior year, if possible.

Take one 100-level course.

Take one elective at any level.

Take five electives at the 200-level or higher. At least two must be at the 300-level.

At least one elective must be designated as "Location"; at least one elective must be designated as "Interpretation"; at least one elective must be designated as "Application." At least one of the 300-level courses must be designated as "Research and Writing."

Senior Project Seminar is offered each fall. Concentrators should prepare by taking Imagining Religions (RELST 291) and a 300-level RELST Research and Writing course.
