THETR-307 History of Theatre

An introduction to the basic texts of theatre history from classical antiquity to the Baroque era, focusing on how Western theatre represents and performs identities race, ethnicity, gender and religion on stage. Places performance within social, cultural and historical contexts, and also provides an introduction to non-Western performance.
