SOC-237 Political Sociology

This course surveys contemporary theory and research in political sociology. We begin with a discussion of conceptual and theoretical approaches to the sociological study of power, authority, politics, and policy. We then apply these approaches to a number of topics in the field, including electoral behavior, collective action and social movements, political leadership, and the formation and development of states and social policies.
