SOC-233 Topics: Social Institutions

Social Institutions are important features of any society and are a core object of study in sociology. This course provides students with an overview of the major social institutions (family, education, religion, economy, state, media) and the ways in which they organize social life. The course also will examine the relationship between institutions and power, inequality, social change, and identity formation.
