RUSSN-370 Advanced Russian I
This course focuses on developing advanced speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Exposure to primary sources—nineteenth-century Russophone short stories—will be paired with explorations of complex grammatical structures to uncover linguistic subtleties and historical specificities of the Russian language. Activities such as close readings, group discussions, in-class presentations, and written assignments will help students cultivate linguistic comprehension and fluency, preparing them to creatively and persuasively express their ideas. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with language skills to begin interacting within academic and professional Russian-speaking environments.
