HSPST-150 Grammar and Composition

An advanced language course designed to strengthen and develop writing skills. The course offers a rigorous review of Spanish grammar and seeks to refine students’ written expression through an array of formats including argumentative compositions, descriptive essays, creative narration, newspaper articles, reviews, among others. Attention will be paid to editing and revision. Students will also refine oral expression through formal presentations and in-class discussion.

Prerequisite

Grade of C or better in HSPST-130 or HSPST-135, placement exam, or consent of instructor. Not open to students who have taken HSPST-140.

Three hours of class, with additional activities, TA sessions and laboratory work. Taught in Spanish.
