HIST-187 History Workshop: ArcGIS and Spatial Analysis

Geographic Information Systems will help you locate, present, analyze, and interact with data that is geographically referenced. Students will learn the basics of cartography, principles of good map design, how to find and manage data, how to design and perform spatial analyses using ArcGIS Online, and how to present results using Story Maps. Class examples are focused on the investigation of historical census data, but all principles and techniques are applicable to a wide range of geographically-located data. Class will meet twice weekly for six weeks.
