DANCE-317 Electronic and Choreographic Assemblages
Construction of hybrid artworks that commingle digital, analog and choreographic media to explore ideas of transmission, networks, collaboration, process, and interdependence. Study of assemblage across 20th & 21st century art practices. Emphasis on philosophy, embodied cognition, affect theory, and critical media theory in considering how assemblage might offer us alternative modes of relating to and augmenting the technologies that shape our lives. Projects will include circuit bending, projection mapping, non-binary machines, sculpture, participatory art practice, artificial intelligence, and experimental performance.
