Government and World Politics
United States: Students with a score of 5 on the AP exam may enter any 200-level American Politics course without taking the prerequisite. Upon completion of the 200-level course with a minimum grade of B, the student will receive 1 credit for Government 116. The AP credit will not count toward a concentration or minor in Government, World Politics, or Public Policy.
Comparative: Students with a score of 5 on the AP exam may enter any 200-level Comparative Politics course without taking the prerequisite. Upon completion of the 200-level course with a minimum grade of B, the student will receive 1 credit for Government 112. The AP credit will not count toward a concentration or minor in Government or World Politics.
Alternatively, students may take 116 and/or 112 if they so choose, but they thereby forfeit the potential credit from their AP score; to be eligible for these courses, such students must contact the Registrar’s Office and request the removal of the AP scores from their records.
