MATH-360 Group Theory

This course is an introduction to groups, one of the fundamental structures of abstract algebra. The course builds on concepts introduced in Math 325. Group theory is used in many areas of mathematics and other STEM fields. This course will explore the basic structures and properties of groups as well as some basic operations on groups. The theory will be introduced and illustrated through classic examples. Applications of groups will also be discussed.
