JAPN-550 Senior Project (Honors Thesis)

An independent research project using primary and secondary sources in Japanese, culminating in a substantial paper. The project is developed by the student in consultation with two faculty members of the East Asian Languages and Literatures Department (a thesis advisor and a secondary reader). Students are expected to demonstrate advanced analytical and linguistic proficiency acquired through upper-level coursework. Prerequisite: limited to Japanese concentrators. With the advisor’s approval, students may enroll in JAPN 550 concurrently with JAPN 500.
