ITALN-281 Bodies and Spaces in Renaissance and Baroque Italy

This class introduces students to the sculptural and architectural extravaganzas of churches and chapels, theaters and urbanscapes, and palaces and gardens, where two- and three-dimensional media entwined to create perception-altering worlds. Class subjects span works of well-known artists, as well as sites aggregated over time, anonymously-produced spaces and ephemera. In response to these early modern precedents, students will design their own campus installation, bringing the immersive experience to Hamilton college.
