HSPST-110 First Term Spanish

Introductory Spanish provides a foundation in the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures for students with little or no prior experience studying Spanish. The course emphasizes the development of basic proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with a focus on grammatical structures and vocabulary used in everyday contexts. Attention to cultural practices and diverse perspectives across the Spanish-speaking world fosters linguistic and intercultural competence.

Prerequisite

Placement required. The Spanish placement exam is on Blackboard. Students who have not previously studied Spanish should answer the questionnaire portion of the placement exam, skip the content questions, and submit.
