GOVT-337 Civil Wars
Civil wars have become the most common type of contemporary armed conflict. This course analyzes the causes, dynamics, outcomes, and aftermath of civil wars. Topics include the systematic factors that predict when civil war occurs, logic of violence in civil war, armed group recruitment and governance, international intervention, and post-conflict politics.
