GEOSC-313 Geochronology

Constraining the absolute timing of events throughout Earth history is critical for fully describing Earth as a system. In this course, students will be introduced to the various isotopic systems, datasets, and methods that geoscientists use in geochronology studies. We will explore the fundamental science that governs these techniques, as well as their applications to a wide-range of geoscience processes, including tectonics, environment and landscape evolution, and Earth’s climate.
