GEOSC-117 Principles of Geoscience: Earth Through Time

Earth has been a continuously operating – and continuously changing – system for over 4.5 billion years. This course will explore fundamental concepts in geoscience through the lens of changes in the Earth system over geologic time. Topics include the formation of Earth and the solar system, plate tectonics, the evolution of life, natural hazards (including earthquakes and volcanoes), and Earth’s climate.
