FRNCH-260 Feminisms in France: From the Vote to Intersectionality

Starting with passage of French women's right to vote, this course examines four "waves" of feminist activism and thought in France since World War II. Focus on significant moments, movements, actions, and debates.  Topics may include: reproductive rights, political parity, LGBT rights, féminicide, sexual harassment, intersectionality, and de colonial feminism.  Course materials include feminist texts, memoir, feminist humor, film, and digital activism,.
