ENVST-380 Climate and Energy Communication

This project-based course explores climate and energy communication focused on the renewable energy transition. Throughout the course, students will engage with local communities of practice – interaction that takes as its starting point the experiences and priorities of these local constituencies. Students will undertake two projects: one that assesses existing energy transition strategies within a designated community of practice, and generates narratives to inform the wider local community, and the another that engages with a public decision-making process, resulting in student authorship of public comments on a renewable energy project being deployed in the local community. Students connect local projects to broader global narratives of the energy transition.
