ECON-379 Political Economy of Environmental and Energy Policy
Markets, individual preferences, and political structures all play a key role in shaping environmental and energy policy. In this course, we will adopt a multi-level political economy approach that draws on behavioral economics to understand individual environmental preferences and works upward through electoral politics and institutional structures. Students will work with economic theory to understand predicted policy effects, and polling and congressional voting data to understand the factors that shape environmental policy.
