BIO-431 Seminar in Immunotherapy

This seminar examines the principles and applications of immunotherapy across a range of health conditions, including cancer, autoimmunity, and infectious disease. Through close reading and discussion of primary research and reviews, we will explore how immune responses can be activated, redirected, suppressed, or reprogrammed for therapeutic benefit. Topics may include immune tolerance, checkpoint regulation, vaccines, cellular and antibody therapies, and strategies for modulating tissue-specific immunity. Emphasis is placed on close, critical reading of experimental literature and on evaluating current approaches and their limitations in the field through class discussion, written and oral critiques, and an individual final project focused on a current question in immunotherapy research.
