BIO-100P Explorations in Biology: The Evolution of Sex

A thematic course exploring five fundamental features of all biological systems, including structure and function, information flow, energy and matter, interactions, and evolution. How did sexual reproduction evolve? Why don’t all animals make clonal copies of themselves? How does sex shape selection and the evolution of plants and animals? How does sex influence human life and society? These are some of the questions this course will explore as we dive into understanding the origins of sexual reproduction across the animal tree of life.
