ASNST-101 First Term Hindi-Urdu

This introductory course is aimed at beginners to learn the basics of Hindi and elements of its closely related sister language, Urdu. It covers all four language skills - speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing. The Hindi script (Devanagari) is introduced from the beginning. Students will acquire essential vocabulary, be exposed to the basic rules of grammar, and learn to speak about topics including: introductions; talking about yourself, your friends and your family; describing physical spaces such as the home and the city; daily life and daily routines; and likes, needs, wants, and interests.

This course assumes no previous knowledge of Hindi-Urdu. Students with listening abilities but no speaking abilities are also welcome to enroll.
