GOVT-342 Gender and Politics

Why are there not more women in positions of political power? Why is there a gender gap in support for different political parties? What are the connections between the gender gap in the economy, the home, and in politics? In this course, students will develop an evidence-based understanding of the most pressing questions about gender and politics, with a focus on the United States.

One 200-level course in American Politics and one of the following courses: GOVT-230, ECON-166, ECON-266, MATH-152, MATH-254, MATH-351, or PSYCH-201 / NEURO-201

Notes

This course analyzes empirical and quantitative scholarship in political science and the broader social sciences. Familiarity with statistical regression and quantitative research methods in the social sciences is required for enrollment.
