HIST-184 History Workshop: Oral Histories

Students will receive training in the work of oral history as a mode of inquiry and as a potential resource for building historical narratives. In this course, students will read secondary source readings on oral history (to better understand its relationship to language, identity, and power), listen to oral history interviews, receive training in conducting oral histories, and finally, conduct oral history interviews with friends and community members.
