GOVT-419 Linowitz Seminar: Pandemics: Pathogens, Public Health, and Public Policy

The Covid-19 pandemic has demonstrated that a virulent, highly infectious pathogen can cause a devastating, world-wide crisis. While vaccines and therapeutics were rapidly developed, public health and governmental responses were inadequate, and in some cases, fragmented and disorganized. To better prepare us for the next pandemic, we must thoroughly analyze the response to the current Covid-19 pandemic and translate the results of that analysis to the development of new public health policies
