GOVT-295 Practicum: Crafting Criminal Justice Reform

This practicum involves students directly in the process of law enforcement and criminal justice reform organized by an independent group in Oneida County: Colleges and Community for Unity and Change. The practicum is offered in conjunction with a similar course taught at Utica College. Hamilton students will deploy and analyze a survey of residents of the County, organize focus groups, canvas community organizations, and present proposals for best- practice demonstration projects. Students will develop skills useful to evaluating and reforming criminal justice institutions in other settings.
