AFRST-201 Diversity Reconsidered
An examination of the emergence of Africana Studies as a transdisciplinary field of social and cultural critique and politics. Explores the work of foundational (e.g., W.E.B Dubois and Anna Julia Cooper) and contemporary figures. Topics include but are not limited to the history of Africana thought, race and global racial formation, resistance and politics, intersectionality, gender and sexuality, representation, white privilege, belonging, Blackness, and diaspora.
