SOC-286 Sociology of Science

Science is an important institution in our modern world. This course explores how science is done and how it affects our daily lives. We will put science in its social context, which is important for understanding it as a process and as a powerful force in society. With examples such as controversies over genetic testing and COVID-19, climate change and intellectual property, this course will introduce you to the exciting field of the sociology of science.
