PHIL-110 Introduction to Philosophy

An introduction to the methods and topics of philosophy. We apply the fundamentals of logic and argumentation to pursue answers to important philosophical questions: How can we understand our nature as human beings? What constitutes a good and happy human life? Is everything that exists somehow physical? Does God exist? Do human beings possess free will? If not, can we be held responsible for our actions? Where does morality come from anyway? How can we know anything about the world we live in? What does it mean to think responsibly with so much disagreement and uncertainty?
