MUSIC-313 Robot Musicals and Techno Opera: AI Advanced Workshop
This class is an advanced workshop exploring possible uses of Artificial Intelligence in devised musical theater creation. Students will participate in community sourced and collaborative performance building, explore human/ technological interfaces, and discuss Artificial Intelligence, scores, algorithms and their potential to support improvisation, and theater creation. In addition, this workshop will establish the compositional framework for a work-in-progress AI techno opera; enrolled students are invited into this continuing process as active collaborators with the core team of artists. The class welcomes performers, computer programmers, musicians, technologists, and singers--anyone with an interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration.
