LIT-459 Seminar: TransAtlantic Romanticisms

Exploration of Romantic ideologies in literature (poetry and novels) from England and the United States. Discussion of nationalism, nature, individualism, and imagination as they appear in authors including Wordsworth, Byron, Scott, Cooper, Whitman, Dickinson, and Melville. Attention to the paradox of influence in asserting notions of national identity.
