LIT-133 Apocalypse Now and Then

End of days, end of empire, end of the world as they knew it--a focus on the apocalyptic in literature. We will examine how selected writers envision the end, whether it be on a personal or pandemic scale, and how the anxieties and issues of their times influenced those visions. We will also work on shaping our own definition of apocalyptic, examining how each text falls within or outside the mainstream definition.
