HIST-376 Race and Capitalism

This upper-level research seminar will explore the linked histories of race and capitalism through the lens of African-American history. Discussion topics may include: slavery and capitalism, convict labor, racial capitalism, racism and organized labor, the marketing of African-American culture, Black media, "choice" in education, the welfare state, real estate and banking, and the history of Black capitalism.
