GOVT-214 Politics in Western Europe

Comparative study of post-World War II politics and government in several European countries, normally concentrating on Britain, France and Germany. Topics include state and political institutions, state- and nation-building, social conflicts and consensus, political culture and the interplay of politics and economics. Some attention paid to international relations in Western European states. Assumes some prior knowledge of Western European history.
