ECON-390 Economics of Labor Market Policy

Examination of selected theoretical and empirical questions and policy issues concerning labor markets. Topics will include: investment in human capital, including education and training; immigration;  employment discrimination and affirmative action policies; hiring policies such as “ban the box;” minimum wage laws; earned income tax credit and labor supply; flexible work arrangements such as working from home and the gig economy; mandated benefits such as family leave; labor unions; unemployment.
