BIO-100G Explorations in Biology: Life in Space.

A thematic course exploring five fundamental features of all biological systems, including organization, information flow, energy and matter, interactions, and evolution. We will focus on two aspects of life in space. 1) The nature of and requirements for extraterrestrial life: how will we know it when we find it? 2) How to meet limitations to long term human survival in space? Research into the effects of reduced gravity, supplying a nutritious diet, and managing microbial interactions.
