ART-305 Advanced Painting: Figuration
This course develops basic paint handling, visual syntax, and conceptual abilities pertaining to the figure in space. Students will examine historical and contemporary methods. Students will gain an appreciation of the physicality, emotional touchstones, and communicative power of paint. Students will explore varied genres within representation. including contemporary portraiture, history painting, the nude, and self portraiture.
