ART-237 Figure Painting

This course develops basic paint handling, visual syntax, and conceptual abilities pertaining to the figure in space. Students will examine historical and contemporary methods, including non-western and abstract approaches. Students will gain an appreciation of the physicality, emotional touchstones, and communicative power of paint.
