ANTHR-332 Citizenship in the Global World
What does it mean to be a citizen? How does citizenship relate to other categories of shared identity and belonging, such as family, nation, ethnicity, race, and place? In a world increasingly characterized by various forms of transnational mobility, what are the consequences of and for citizenship? In this course, we will interrogate major theoretical models of citizenship from across the social sciences and consider the political and social implications of these models in a range of real-world contexts.
