PHIL-206 Ethical and Social Issues in the Digital Age

Digital media and technologies are increasingly shaping our experience of the world and our interactions with others. In this course, we will engage in a critical reflection on both established and emerging information and communication technologies, focusing on their ethical and social implications. Informed by readings in the philosophy of technology and ethics, we will cover topics such as algorithmic bias, automation, big data, digital divide, disinformation, privacy, and personal identity.
