MATH-363 Differential Geometry
Differential geometry is the study of geometric properties of curves, surfaces, and their higher dimensional analogues using the methods of calculus. This course is an introduction to the differential geometry of curves and surfaces in three dimensional Euclidean space. Topics include Frenet frames for curves, Gaussian and mean curvature, the first and second fundamental forms, geodesics, and Gauss’s Theorema Egregium.
