FRNCH-212 Introduction to French Literature II: All in the family : French literature and familial conflicts

This examines French and francophone literature and culture from the Middle Ages to the present as a site for the analysis of familial tensions, intergenerational conflicts, marital discord, and strained relations and love between mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters. Authors include Marie de France, Molière, Isabelle de Charrière, Balzac, François Mauriac, Annie Ernaux, and Cédric Klapisch.
