ECON-418 Economic Topics in Environmental Justice

Environmental injustice occurs when certain groups bear a disproportionate share of negative environmental consequences. This course examines literature in economics that sheds light on various aspects of environmental injustice, including explanations of its sources, relevant government incentives and policies, and behavior of polluting firms. We first develop an understanding of the theoretical framework used in economic analysis of environmental injustice and then examine empirical evidence using a variety of case studies.
